Year 12 Biology Trip
Last Wednesday the year 12 Biologists visited Beckenham Place Park to complete some of the field work required for their A level studies. The task at hand was to scientifically collect data on plants growing in areas where different factors were influencing their growth. The weather was blustery with cold wind containing horizontal rain that even the most determined brolly user was challenged by! But the students, wrapped up warm (wearing some very fetching Wellington boots!) and moving from the field to the warmer classrooms at the park had incredibly positive attitudes what really showed their ability to persevere in challenging circumstances. Mr Davies, Mr Gresham, Mr Tompros and I were all so impressed with the year 12s – as were the staff at the learning centre . It was an absolute pleasure to take them to represent our school. Here is a summary of the day by Araxie in year 12. ‘The Biology trip to Beckenham Place park was wet and muddy, but overall we had a good time learning. The weather decided to challenge us and was not on our side but being the strong, hard-working biologists that we are, we did our best and were able to finish our fun practical work’.
