Applicants Day
Applicants’ day was a successful day in giving the new year 12s a taste of what it is like to be a student here at HCL6F. Going around the building I could see lots of engagement from the students and active learning. It was good hearing students answering questions using terms that sixth formers use , their advanced knowledge of content relating to their subject choices gave teachers confidence in their new year 12 students. I was able to speak with the students at the end to ask how they enjoyed their day and all the feedback I received was positive, all students I spoke to were happy to tell me that they enjoyed their day and see themselves coming back in September. A highlight for me was seeing the active engagement from sociology and chemistry classrooms. I could see students participating in discussions and learning a lot. I can definitely see the majority of those students coming back in September and starting their academic year off in a positive way
