The title of today's assembly, "Pink Ponies and Small Towns", pleased me, as did the symmetry of using synth pop songs from 40 years apart to explore LGBT History with Harris Clapham Sixth Form.https://t.co/q7vedomNI2

Visit from our local MP

MP Visit

Our local MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy visited the school to speak to a group of our students. Students listened to Bell talk about her journey to Parliament and her work. Bell spoke at length about the importance of voting and how this is the key for making change happen. Students were then given time to ask Bell questions.

Some of our Y12 students' reflections are below:
Bushra: 'It was very nice and informative hearing the experience of an actual MP and Bell's experience. I was grateful for how honest and raw Bell's answers to questions were. It was great to get an opinion on events that are currently happening in politics while also leaving us with our own chance of having our own perspective on the topic. I am very grateful for the opportunity.'

Amina: 'The talk was really informative and interesting. It was very interesting to hear from an actual MP about her views and opinions and how she got to where she is now. Especially her answers about the bad things that are currently going on in the world really brought to light how important politics really is in life in general. Thanks for the opportunity!'
