The Effect - Theatre trip

Drama, English and Psychology students have had two fantastic trips to the theatre in the last couple of weeks. On the 25th September students attended the National Theatre to see The Effect by Lucy Prebble (writer of Succession) starring Taylor Russell and Paapa Essidu. Set on a traverse stage, the audience are immersed in an exciting production from the moment they enter the theatre. The auditorium was electric with anticipation as loud, electronic music reverberated through the audience mimicking that of a gig or concert. Our students' excitement built as the lights came up to reveal Russell standing centre stage on the video floor staging. The play was quick-paced and engaging and as we left the theatre all members of Harris Clapham Sixth Form had been inspired by the work of some phenomenal actors and were left with questions relating to ethics around human drug trials.
